Thank you so much for my first painting lesson. I feel quite emotional, mostly because I regret that I didn’t do this decades ago! Well, there’s no time like the present…

Kevin McSherry summer schedule en plein air art class at the Huband Bridge in Dublin

Yesterday morning saw our painting class at the Huband Bridge in Dublin, next to the Peppercannister Church.  The day started out overcast but it did brighten up, although we were subjected to ever-changing light.

Painting by the canal is always to the accompaniment of some of Dublin's more interesting characters and for a while we got talking to a Latvian chap who gave a critique of our work while holding a can of beer and a fistful of cigarette butts he'd rescued from the path. He was harmless and very pleasant.

Getting freshly painted oils work home is always a problem, hence my unique, patented  carrying device held on to my scooter with chicken wire. Improvisation is all important in the world of painting...

...and that is taught in every Kevin McSherry art class. If you want to know more about my classes -see the summer schedule tab or the regular classes which will start again in September. And do get in touch.

If you sign up for my newsletter, on the left of this page, you'll receive a FREE eBook on colour!

Have fun: paint small; paint oils and paint often.
